Abstract:The coordinated development of digitalization and greenization aims to empower greenization with digitalization and drive the sustainable development of digitalization through greenization. It is an inevitable choice and core strategic path for China"s economic and social development in the new era. This paper focuses on the path of greenization driving digitalization. Based on the data of A-share listed companies from 2012 to 2023, it takes the implementation of the pilot policy for climate-adaptive city construction as a "quasi-natural experiment" and uses the difference-in-differences method to examine the causal effect of the pilot"s implementation on enterprises digital transformation. The research finds that the implementation of the pilot policy for climate-adaptive city construction significantly promotes enterprise digital transformation, and this policy has a more obvious promoting effect on state-owned enterprises, enterprises with less management power, non-high-tech industries, heavy-polluting industries, high-energy consumption pressure cities and provincial capital cities. Mechanism tests show that the pilot policy for climate-adaptive city construction mainly promotes the digital transformation of enterprises through the digital infrastructure empowerment effect, regulatory driving effect and R D incentive effect. Further analysis indicates that government digital attention, government subsidies and talent introduction intensity can work in synergy with the pilot policy for climate-adaptive city construction to jointly promote the digital transformation of enterprises. This research provides reference and inspiration for the further improvement of the pilot policy for climate-adaptive city construction.
